Sophomore and Junior Opportunities

University of Alabama Rural Health Scholars Program

The University sponsors this program for 25 juniors.  The ultimate goal is to make quality health care more available to the rural communities in the state.  Requirements for applying:  ACT of 21, a GPA of 3.0, two letters of recommendation and a statement of interest essay.  Applications are available in the counselor's office and should be postmarked by March 15.

2017 John Szucs Memorial Technical Scholarship

The MCMA awards scholarships to High School seniors and employees of MCMA member companies each year. The recipients will be chosen based on their desire to pursue education and/or skills training that could lead directly to jobs in manufacturing, as well as a desire to pursue a career in Marshall County.  Applications are available in the counselor's office.

The AF&GA Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in the field of Agriculture

AL Farmers Co-op & Auburn Scholarship

For beginning freshmen who would like an opportunity to work in the co-op system after graduation.

Amount: full tuition and fees, with an approximate value of $20,000 per student over a four-year period.

Must maintain a 3.0 GPA on Auburn University's four point scale, to remain eligible.

These are great scholarships! B. Davis Scholarship There is a scholarship offered through the Student Award Search Aid website. The deadline is May 22 and the award is $1,000. Check out the website at
Paul Mitchell The School Scholarship
Applicants must be accepted y the school. A se
aled transcript with a minimum of 2.75 GPA required. The scholarship amount will be $2,000. An essay and two letters of recommendation are needed. Applications must be postmarked two weeks prior to the start date.
College Counts Scholarship Award amounts are $4,000 for four-year institutions and $2,000 for two-year institutions. The scholarship opens December 1 - March 1, 2017. Requirements for the scholarship include financial need, minimum GPA 2.75, and a maximum ACT score of 26. For more information or to apply, visit Family Security Credit Union Scholarship This scholarship is available to all high school seniors. Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded in May. To apply visit for additional information. There is a 750-word essay required along with the application.

Alabama Home Builders Association Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any graduating senior planning on pursing a career in construction or a career related with construction such as electrical or electrical engineering, plumbing, heating and air or masonry. Degrees or certification can be from a technical school, community college or university. Applications are available in the counselor's office. The deadline is March 15.
Alabama School Public Relation Association Scholarship
This scholarship is for any junior or senior planning on pursuing a in communication, public relations or a degree in a related field of study. Applications are available in the counselor's office. Along with the application students must provide a transcript including a GPA of 3.0, a resume, a photo, and a response to an essay question. The deadline is February 10.
Alabama Association of School Personnel Scholarship Scholarships will be given to high school graduates who desire to pursue of degree in business or a degree in K-12 education. Along with the application students need to include a recent photo, a personal letter stating your financial need, a transcript and one letter form three references. Deadline to submit the application is March 1.
The Foundation For Marshall Medical Centers
Applicants must be a graduating senior, have at least an 80 average in core subjects, be in good standing, provide an official transcript and be planning on pursuing a career in health care. Complete packets must be received by Friday, March 17. Applications packets are available in the counselor's office. Electric Cooperative Scholarship Seniors who are dependents of a member of a participating Alabama electric cooperative. Applications are available in the counselor's office. Packets must be received by February 24. Alabama Center for Architecture Scholarship Scholarships are eligible to high school seniors entering an accredited architecture program. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 6. Marshall County Bar Association Scholarship Two scholarships will be awarded to seniors interested in entering the legal field. A 150-word essay, official transcript and a resume are required. The deadline to enter is April 14.
