Hello My Name Is...

Ashley Thomas

Hello, my name is Ashley Thomas. This is my seventh year as a Special Education teacher at Asbury High School. I am beyond blessed and excited to be working at Asbury High School and with this amazing group of people.  I truly believe that I have the best job in the world. I wake up each morning excited to come to school and teach my eager students. Most of my friends think I'm 'weird' because I like to work and go to school so much!

I am originally from Dekalb County and currently live in Fort Payne. I have 3 children, Jalyn age 13, Maddox age 7, and Cannon age 2. I love spending time with my family. My kids keep me busy with sports and other events year-round. However, I love to shop whenever time and money allow it! 😊 Another very important part of my life is going to church and being active in church. God has blessed me throughout my life way more than I deserve.

My passion in life is to be the voice for the students that do not seem to have a voice. I believe that all students can learn no matter what academic and developmental level that they are on. I love working with the students that I work with. They are a joy and a blessing, and every day is different. I believe that everyone has a voice, we just have to make the effort to listen. I am so excited to get the year started and cannot wait to work with the students.

Thank you,

Ashley Thomas
